GOP Speak: Civic Education for an Engaged Electorate

This project was created as part of a voter education initiative for the Democratic community in Northern Virginia. The objective was to provide a friendly, accessible introduction to political persuasion techniques and empower viewers to recognize — and question — the strategies campaigns use to shape opinion. The messaging was tailored for the intended audience while upholding principles of respect and informed decision-making.

Don’t Get Catfished: How belonging becomes control!

This animated learning video explains how high-control groups use belonging, identity, and emotional pressure to influence and manipulate others. Through character-driven storytelling, visual metaphors, and guided pacing, the piece encourages viewers to recognize the red flags of deceptive persuasion tactics. Designed with accessibility and sensitivity in mind, this media helps learners think critically about influence and protect themselves in emotionally vulnerable situations. Designer Note: This project demonstrates my ability to communicate difficult psychological concepts in a respectful, approachable, and engaging way using Vyond animation..

Our family celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas with our Jewish family

Family Holiday Celebrations

This short, voice-free holiday musical animation celebrates the joy, connection, and shared traditions of our two families — honoring the Jewish community we are proud to call family. Using inclusive imagery, music-driven pacing, and subtle storytelling, the piece communicates warmth and gratitude without spoken narration, making it easy to share and access across audiences. It reflects my approach of designing media that connects across culture and community with heart, respect, and visual clarity..

A talking head of a cat introducing a how to video for Vyond animated talking animals and objects

A Tutorial: How to make animals talk

Talking animals are one of the most frequently requested features in Vyond—but the platform doesn’t currently support this capability. To address that gap, I developed a creative workaround and produced this screencast, created entirely in Vyond, to teach others how to animate animals and inanimate objects as if they could speak. Using a cat character, I demonstrate how to layer voiceovers, synchronize motion, and apply subtle gestures to bring personality and realism to non-human characters.

Animated scene from a wellness video showing a nurse practitioner talking with a patient in a primary care office. The patient looks tired and anxious as they discuss sleep and stress, illustrating compassionate, whole-person care.

Wellness

In this animated scenario, Nurse Practitioner Alice guides us through a patient encounter with a 45-year-old female presenting with fatigue, insomnia, anxiety, and financial stress. The video demonstrates a holistic assessment and wellness-oriented approach—moving beyond just prescribing a sleep aid to exploring emotional health, lifestyle habits, and support strategies. Perfect for primary care teams looking to enhance patient-centred dialogue and build deeper therapeutic relationships.

An illustration of a water tank with water flowing into the left side and outflowing on the right side

Water Tank Illustration

This epidemiology-focused animation uses a water-tank metaphor to illustrate how infectious agents enter and spread within a population. The inflow represents exposure to viruses or bacteria—raising the overall viral load in the community. The outflow depicts epidemiological outcomes: some individuals recover as the infection resolves, while others die as the disease burden exceeds capacity. The tank’s changing levels visualize infection dynamics, herd vulnerability, and healthcare response capacity. Designed in Vyond, this model simplifies complex population-level data through color-coded animation, clear labeling, and accessible narration—making it an effective visual tool for teaching outbreak patterns and intervention impact.

Designer Notes for Vyond Wellness Scenario

1. Creative Direction & Storytelling This Vyond production transforms a sensitive health topic into an approachable learning experience through story-driven design. The scenario uses natural pacing, human emotion, and environmental cues (lighting, body language, facial expressions) to convey empathy and realism in the clinical setting. Each scene is crafted to show both the clinical perspective and the emotional dimension of patient care—helping learners connect evidence-based assessment with real-world empathy. Subtle motion paths, transitions, and layered visual cues create an experience that feels dynamic yet professional—mirroring the calm tone of a nurse practitioner’s office.

Accessibility & Inclusion High-contrast color palette and large, readable typography ensure the video is perceivable by viewers with low vision. Clear voice narration, and captioning, make the content accessible for both hearing and visually impaired audiences. People-first language and diverse character representation reflect inclusive healthcare practice. Visual focus and limited on-screen text support cognitive accessibility, allowing the learner to absorb both the dialogue and emotional tone.

Instructional Integrity The script models therapeutic communication and whole-person wellness assessment, aligning with adult-learning principles and nursing competencies. Dialogue is conversational but precise, reinforcing professional language and critical thinking in patient evaluation. Scene flow mirrors the SOAP note structure—subjective, objective, assessment, plan—providing learners a familiar clinical framework in visual form.

Product Marketing & Brand Alignment The piece showcases how Vyond can be leveraged as a professional-grade storytelling tool in higher education and healthcare marketing. The consistent visual style and branded color scheme demonstrate institutional cohesion, ready for integration into course modules, LMS dashboards, or organizational promotions. The design also functions as a portfolio piece, illustrating how motion design and instructional intent can merge to create visually credible, emotionally resonant learning experiences.

Design Philosophy This project embodies the “Learning by Designer” approach—using design as a vehicle for clarity, empathy, and understanding. Every element—from camera framing to timing and transitions—was intentionally chosen to teach visually, not just illustrate.
