As the site was developed a number of tools were used. Coding (both html and CSS) was achieved using “Brackets” source code editor with a primary focus on web development. All coding was completed by hand and without use of a WYSIWYG format. The site evaluation concentrated on Emotional Support Dogs, Service Dogs, and the ADA pages.
The project site and was tested using a number of assistive technology, browsers and automated tools. Browsers used for testing included Google Chrome on an iMac Desktop running Mojave 10.14.5 OS and also within the Windows 10 (virtual environment on an iMac) running under Parallels version 14. Also used were current versions of Firefox (Mozilla), and Safari (Apple)
Other Assistive Technology Used for Evaluation
- Assistive technology used for testing: JAWS v2019.1906.10 ILM Home Student Version (screen reading application), on a standard Apple keyboard with attached numeric pad and a trackball pad.
- Automated Tools: WAVE Chrome Extension (Chrome), Color Contrast Analyzer and Siteimprove Accessibility Checker, and the Github Color Contrast Analyzer
Please Note: The Project Homepage and the Service Dogs pages were reviewed in detail. All pages in the project directory have the same consistent framework so any issues found would tend to be similar and then adjusted using the CSS style sheets. If you encounter any issues, please feel free to contact me on my biographical page and I may correct them. It is my goal to make all portfolio pages accessible.
